Can a second coat of Rust-Oleum® HOME Base Coat be applied, if desired?

Only one coat is required (except for the colour White, it needs 2 coats). If a second coat is desired after applying the entire floor with the first coat, wait 6 hours before applying the second coat. After you have applied the first coat, if you see areas you may have missed or that need more paint, such as the grout lines, those areas can be touched up with the Base Coat before applying the Top Coat. Again, just wait 6 hours to apply the touch ups, then in 1-2 hours you can apply the Top Coat.

How does this floor paint hold up against everyday wear and tear?

Rust-Oleum® HOME is extremely durable and with proper preparation will last a long time with regular use. If you are concerned, you can apply a second coat of Rust-Oleum® HOME Top Coat. To do so, simply wait until the first Top Coat is dry to the touch (1-2 hours) before applying the second Top Coat. We recommend the second coat to be applied within 24 hours of the first. If you choose to recoat after 24 hours and before 7 days we recommend sanding the floor before you recoat.
